Katie Brown, Ed.D., RDN, FAND, FASN, is president of National Dairy Council (NDC) and an executive vice president of Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), where she leads scientific, regulatory, and nutrition affairs strategies—amplifying dairy’s role in health promotion, nutrition security, and modern wellness. 

She serves on DMI’s executive leadership team, represents the U.S. on the International Dairy Federation Board, and advances health and wellness priorities through the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy. A TEDx speaker and frequent media contributor, Katie is passionate about translating complex science into relatable, actionable strategies that empower health across the lifespan. 

Katie has dedicated her career to improving health fueled by food that can transform lives for the better. A registered dietitian, Katie holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition and a doctorate in education. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, presented at more than 150 professional meetings, and serves on the National Academies of Science Roundtable on Obesity Solutions and the Board of Advocates for the University of Kansas School of Health Professionals. 

Her leadership has been recognized with the University of Kansas Distinguished Health Professions Alumna Award (2024), and the Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND) and inaugural Fellow of the American Society for Nutrition (FASN) designations.
