Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar & butter in small sauce pan and simmer until syrupy.
  2. Pour mixture over bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.
  3. Slice bread into 1 inch slices, cut in half diagonally & place over syrup mixture.
  4. Put apple slices between bread slices.
  5. Zest a lemon over the bread in a bowl, beat together eggs, milk, salt & vanilla.
  6. Pour over bread.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon over egg mixture.
  8. Cover dish and let stand in refrigerator overnight.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
